      Producer Information

St. Supéry Estate Vineyards and Winery is wine producer, located in the Rutherford sub-appellation of Napa Valley, California. It specializes in estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, and has been a fixture on Napa's famous Highway 29 since 1989. Proprietor Robert Skalli came to Napa Valley from Corsica, where his grandparents founded the winery Terra Vecchi. In 1982, he purchased the Dollarhide estate, a 1500 acre (607 hectare) cattle ranch in the northeast corner of Napa Valley. He also purchased 56 acres (23 hectares) in Rutherford, where the winery was built and still stands today. The first vintage of St. Supéry was released in 1989. Topday, the Dollarhide ranch is planted with 500 acres (200 hectares) of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, with several other Bordeaux varieties and a small parcel of Chardonnay. Ranging from 600 to 1100 feet (186-335 meters) above sea level, with a wealth of different soil types, the variance of the property's terroir provides different flavor profiles in each block, allowing for complexity the final blends. The smaller Rutherford property is planted to the Bordeaux varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. St. Supéry produces a large range of wines, all of which are sourced from estate vineyards. The two most esteemed are the Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend Élu, and the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend titled Virtù. The Single Vineyard collection is produced to showcase the terroir of each plot at the Dollarhide Ranch. The estate also produces a range of entry-level wines, which are more fruit-forward and approachable in their youth. The Skalli family sold their Napa Valley holdings to fashion giant Chanel in 2015.
