      Producer Information

St. Clement Winery is a former Californian wine estate once based in a historic house just north of St. Helena in the Napa Valley viticultural area. It was best-known for its Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines, of which it made a number of single-vineyard releases alongside its flagship 'Oroppas' Bordeaux-style blend. It also made numerous other labels from Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The property itself dates back to the late 19th Century, when Fritz Rosenbaum had a prominent Victorian mansion built, and the family made Riesling and Zinfandel in the cellar. However, St. Clement's modern history didn't start until 1976, when the house and property were bought by William Casey, who added a free-standing stone winery to the grounds. St. Clement sourced fruit from both estate-farmed vineyards and through contracts with local growers. Its vineyards were spread throughout Napa Valley's sub-regions and included sites in Diamond Mountain District, Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, Rutherford, Carneros and Spring Mountain District. In 2016, the St. Clement building and winery was purchased by Huneeus Wines (which owns the high-profile Quintessa winery, also in Napa Valley) from international wine behemoth, Treasury Wine Estates (which also owns the likes of Penfolds and Beringer Vineyards). While Treasury Wine Estates has kept the St. Clement brand, the former St. Clement winery and historic house now houses Huneeus' Faust brand.
