Producer Information
Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer (formerly Jayer-Gilles) is an ten-hectare (25-acre) Burgundian wine estate. It is particularly known for Pinot Noir reds from Nuits-Saint-Georges and the Échézeaux Grand Cru. The cellar is situated in the village of Magny-lès-Villers in the Côte d'Or. This lies between the Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits and Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune appellations, just southwest of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The estate was founded in the 1950s by Robert Jayer a cousin of Henri Jayer and his wife Paulette. Their son Gilles began working at the family estate in 1991, and took over from his parents in 1998, renaming the estate Jayer-Gilles. In 2017, Gilles decided to sell the estate; sadly he died just one year later aged only 57. Current owner André Hoffmann is a Swiss billionaire with a background in the medical industry.
