"Castell'in Villa's story is a tale of transformation led by Princess Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa, a Greek-born aristocrat who, with her late husband Riccardo, bought the medieval estate in 1968 to find a peaceful retreat, but instead built a world-renowned winery focused on traditional, 100% Sangiovese Chianti Classico aged in large, old casks for authentic terroir expression, a vision she bravely continued alone after his death in 1985, making it an iconic estate known for exceptionally long-lived wines."
