Producer: Domaine Forey Père et Fils

Vintage: 2022

Size: 750ml

ABV: 13%

Varietal: Pinot Noir

    Country/Region: France, Bordeaux

A more floral-suffused nose speaks mostly of a spicy blend of red and dark cherry along with a whiff of the sauvage. There is a bit more size, weight and power to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a lovely texture that isn't necessarily especially refined though neither is it overtly rustic on the lingering and more structured finale.

      Producer Information

Domaine Forey Père et Fils is a Burgundian wine producer based in Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits region. The domaine focuses entirely on red wines made from Pinot Noir. The portfolio is headed by two grand cru wines from Vougeot and Flagey-Échézeaux. It also features five premier crus, two in each of Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, and one in Morey-Saint-Denis.  Village-level wines are made from all three appellations. Unusually, three different village Vosne-Romanée wines are made from the same fruit. The "conventional" bottling is aged in 500-liter hogsheads (see below for winemaking). Jarre is aged in terracotta for a little extra minerality, while the Menhir cuvée is made in a truncated cone-shaped oak vat. A number of Bourgogne wines are also made.
