      Producer Information

Domaine Morey-Coffinet is a wine producer based in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune subregion, making a range of wines from local and neighboring vineyards, predominantly from the local mainstay: Chardonnay. The domaine was established in 1978 following the marriage of Fabienne Coffinet and Michel Morey – both from major Burgundy wine-producing dynasties (Pillot and Fernand Coffinet on Fabienne's side with Marc Morey the father of Michel). Winemaking is currently overseen by son Thibault Morey. The estate spans a total of 8.5 hectares (22 acres), the vast majority of which lies within the commune of Chassagne – a small, 0.2-hectare (half an acre) plot in Puligny-Montrachet's Premier Cru Les Pucelles is the only major exception. Vineyard plots in the stable include 0.1 hectares (a quarter-acre) in the Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru as well as more sizeable holdings in the premiers crus En Cailleret, La Romanée, En Remilly and the Morgeot Fairendes. Morey-Coffinet also have small plots in Dent de Chien and Blanchot Dessus. All are planted to Chardonnay.
