Merry Edwards Winery is a Californian estate based in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. It specializes in varietal wines made from Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Merry Edwards started her winemaking career in 1974 at Mount Eden Vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains. In 1975, she took cuttings from a selection of Mount Eden Vineyards' Pinot Noir vines and sent them to University of California, Davis. This selection subsequently became known as UCD clone 37, or the "Merry Edwards selection". Edwards helped establish Matanzas Creek in 1977, and founded her own winery in 1997.
