Size: 700ML

Proof: 116.8 (58.4%ABV)

Origin: Scotland

Distillery: Benriach

This 17-year-old Benriach was matured in a refill American hogshead, allowing the distillery’s fruity, honeyed spirit to shine with clarity. Bottled at cask strength, it offers a balanced profile of stone fruit, vanilla, gentle spice and soft oak, underpinned by Benriach’s signature orchard sweetness. Natural colour and un-chillfiltered, it’s a refined, focused single cask that reflects Gordon & MacPhail’s century-long expertise in maturation and distillery partnerships.

Benriach Connoisseurs Choice Single Cask #121 17 Year Old · 2005 Vintage Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Great elegance and charm on the nose.

Palate: Balanced and rich flavors.

Finish: Elegant long-lasting aftertaste.

Distillery Information

Benriach was founded in 1897 and is situated on the road running south of Elgin towards Rothes, next door to Longmorn distillery. The distillery closed very shortly after in 1899, and did not reopen until 1965, thanks to purchase by Glenlivet distillers. Benriach closed again in 1998, but was reopened in 2003 by a consortium led by the legendary figure Billy Walker (who also turned round Glendronach and Glenglassaugh before moving on to Glenallachie). The floor maltings have reopened and Benriach is now available in a range of age statements and in peated and non-peated forms.
