The Botran Rare Vintage ‘French Wine Cask’ is a very original rum. The wine barrel gives the rum a great extra flavor pallet that leaves a real impression in the aftertaste. The blend of 8-25 year old rum first matured in American ex bourbon barrels and was therefore finished in French wine barrels.

Nose: Deep wood aroma, characteristic of French wine, hints of vanilla, nuts, dried fruit and notes of spice.

Palate: Intense toasted French wine taste, delicate notes of vanilla

Finish: Nice fruity finish.

Distillery Information

The history of this rum originated in 1939 , when the Botrans, a family of Spanish emigrants, started the distillation activity in Guatemala , in the city of Quetzaltenango, which rises at 2300 meters above sea level, in a region considered ideal for the cultivation of sugar cane and for the aging of rum.
