Brugal was founded in 1888 by Don Andrés Brugal Montaner as a family business. Brugal & Co. is based in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. In 1920, Brugal, now in its 2nd family generation, launches the first aged Rum on the market. The typical Brugal net has adorned every bottle since 1940.
