Cambus 34 Year Old 1990 Single Cask Private Label Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh fruit salad, brown butter cookies, maple pancakes, and candied nuts. Wafers, waxed citrus, fresh leather, and polished oak emerge in time.

Palate: Fruity and zesty, with rich old oak and mellow sweetness. Waffles, honey, fresh melon, and a touch of lychee lead to buttery fudge and a sprinkling of drying spice.

Finish: Leather, oak, and cigar box spice, boozy stewed fruits, butter biscuits, and honeycomb wax.

Distillery Information

"Cambus Distillery's story is a significant chapter in Scotch whisky, evolving from a malt distillery to a pioneer in grain whisky production, crucial for blends, surviving major fires, and eventually closing in 1993, but its site now serves as a major Diageo warehousing and cooperage hub, with its unique, sought-after grain whiskies still bottled today. Founded in 1806 by John Moubray, it was instrumental in proving grain whisky's legitimacy and became a founding member of DCL (Distillers Company Ltd.), but faced closures in 1914 and after WWII before its final shutdown, with its legacy living on in rare bottlings."
