      Producer Information

Champagne Gosset is arguably the oldest house in Champagne. It was founded in 1584 in Aÿ, just outside of Reims, by Pierre Gosset who began making still red wines in bulk. In the mid-18th Century the Gosset family discovered bubbles in their wine as it began to ferment in bottle and, since then, Gosset Champagne has been almost continuously produced. The Gosset winery is still located in Aÿ, and all of the wines are produced there. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes are mostly purchased from grape growers who have vines located in grand and premier cru sites around the region. The varieties and plots are all vinified and kept separate until after fermentation, and then blended before bottling. The wines do not go through malolactic fermentation, giving them slightly higher levels of acidity (freshness) while they are bottled, aged and released. The range at Gosset includes a Grand Reserve NV Brut, Rosé, Blanc de Blancs and a vintage Millésime, which is only produced in the best years. The range of Celebris Champagnes are the prestige cuvée of the house, and the brut and rosé expressions are both made in an extra-brut style.
