"Chaucer's Cellars winery story began in 1964 with Lawrence Bargetto in California's Santa Cruz Mountains, creating fruit wines and honey wines (meads) inspired by Medieval England and Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, using local plums and honey to make unique dessert-style wines, celebrating a tradition that continues today with award-winning meads and fruit wines."
