Finish: Long and warming, with dark chocolate, charred oak, black pepper, and a touch of dried fruit and honey.

Founded in 1856 by James A. Miller in Paris, Kentucky, Chicken Cock Whiskey built a strong reputation by the mid-19th century. In 1860, a steamboat (the A.O. Tyler) carrying 475 uninsured barrels sank on the Ohio River, representing a major loss for Miller’s operation and the brand’s early inventory.
