A delicious peach liqueur from Edmond Briottet. This Crème de Pêche de Vigne Sanguine is made with macerated blood vine peaches (vigne sanguine means blood vine in case you were wondering) which are named after their red-coloured flesh. It might sound a bit morbid, but these small peaches are highly sought-after. The trees were often planted alongside grape vines to alert growers to signs of powdery mildew, and provide food for workers during the harvest. The small fruits only last a few days once picked, and so this crème de pêche is made with freshly harvested peaches. A peach liqueur for connoisseurs this one.
