Glenrothes 16 Year Old 2009 Black Friday Private Label Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Toffee, chocolate wafers, sticky ginger loaf, iced biscuits, milky coffee, sweet notes of guava and brown sugar. Buttered malt bread joins in time with hints of creamy hazelnut beneath.

Palate: Robust malt and drying oak lead, giving way to molasses and pattiessrie sweetness in time. Chewy toffee, creamy caramel, and buttery fudge, with choc chip muffins, maple, and strawberry laces.

Finish: Berries and spiced apple loaf join for the finish, with lingering notes of tannic, grippy oak, chocolatey malt, and icing sugar.

Distillery Information

"The Glenrothes distillery, built in 1878 in Rothes, Speyside, has a dramatic history marked by fires, explosions, and rebirths, famously starting distillation on the day of the Tay Bridge disaster; it became famous for its vintage releases under Berry Bros. & Rudd, transitioning to age statements later, all while maintaining traditions like an on-site cooperage and slow distillation for its fruity, sherry-cask matured single malts, embodying resilience and quality in the whisky world.}"
