The 2020 Tributo edition was blended by Asbel Morales, Maestro del Ron Cubano, (Master of Cuban rum) using reserves of 100 casks from previous Tributo releases. Havana Club Tributo 2020 is presented in a wooden box with packaging evoking the 1920s. Each bottle is numbered, and each box is personalised with the signature of Asbel Morales. Bottled at 40% Abv, Havana Club Tributo 2020 will be available in more than 20 markets.
Havana Club Tributo 2020 (5th edition) Cuban Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: Dried fruit, prunes, linseed oil, pecan nuts, leather, tobacco leaf, caramel and faint balsamic.
Palate: Bittersweet and intense. Dried fruit, tobacco leaf, dry oak/stewed tea tannins and prune.
Finish: Vanilla, chocolate, dry oak tannins, prune and delicate cinnamon spice.
Distillery Information
The Arechabala family founded a distillery in Cardenas, Cuba in 1878. Later renamed José Arechabala S.A., the company created the Havana Club brand in 1934, and sold rum under that name in both Cuba and the United States. The company was nationalized without compensation by the Castro government in 1960.
