Distillery Information

"Highland Park's story starts with illicit distilling by Magnus "Mansie" Eunson in Orkney around 1798, a church officer who hid whisky under his pulpit, eventually getting a license in 1826. Known for its unique, subtly smoky, heathery flavor from Orkney peat and heather, the distillery grew from a smuggler's sideline to an acclaimed single malt, changing hands from Eunson to the Borwick family, then the Grants, and finally to the Edrington Group (owners of The Macallan) in 1979, known for its Viking heritage and commitment to traditional craftsmanship."
