(INCH-gow-er) Inchgower Distillery, located near Elgin in Speyside, Scotland, was established in 1871. The distillery is known for producing rich and robust single malt Scotch whiskies with a distinctive character, often featuring bold notes of fruit, malt, and a touch of spice. Inchgower's whiskies are predominantly used in blends, including those by the Diageo-owned brand Johnnie Walker. The name "Inchgower" comes from the Gaelic words meaning "Field of the River," reflecting its geographical setting near the River Lossie. Despite its role in blending, Inchgower single malts are valued for their complex and well-rounded flavour profiles.
