Distillery Information
Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont and Boston, Kentucky is the home of the world's bestselling bourbon whiskey brand. The history of the distillery is longer than almost any family operation in Scotland. Jacob Beam (originally Boehm) started distilling in Washington County in 1795. In 1854, his grandson moved the operation closer to the railroad in Clear Springs. After Prohibition ended in 1933, the determined 70-year-old Jim Beam built a new distillery at Clermont. His great grandson Fred Noe (son of the legendary Booker Noe) is now in charge, while the grandsons of Jim's brother Park run Heaven Hill. In 2014 Beam Inc. was bought by Suntory, and became part of the Beam Suntory group.
