Size: 700ML
Proof: 105.4 (52.7%ABV)
Origin: Scotland
Distillery: Kilchoman
From the heart of Kilchoman’s sherry stock comes this 15-year-old release – a blend of butts filled in 2008 and 2009, chosen to showcase the deeper, richer side of the distillery’s spirit. Bottled to celebrate the distillery's 20th anniversary, this is a layered, maritime dram where sweet sherry fruit and peppery spice meet a salty, savoury peat profile. It was bottled at 52.7% ABV with no additional colouring or chill-filtration.
Kilchoman 15 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured 20th Anniversary Series Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet spices and dried fruit – think clove, cinnamon, and sultanas – with a waft of sea spray and briny peat.
Palate: Rich and full – dark fruits, cracked black pepper, and salted liquorice, with a gentle smoke that ties it all together.
Finish: Salted dark chocolate, fruitcake, and smouldering oak.
Distillery Information
The Kilchoman whisky distillery was founded in 2005 at the Rochside Farm, not far from Machir Bay at Islay’s West Coast. Kilchoman is Scotland’s most Westerly whisky distillery and draws its water from a spring on Cnoc Dubh, just above Rochside Farm. The Kilchoman distillery is the brainchild of Anthony Wills, a former wine industry professional who wished to found a small-scale, traditional distillery. Subsequently Mark and Rohaise French, of the Rochside Farm, were keen on using local produce (and had their own food label, Islay Fine Food), so the idea of establishing an artisan, traditional distillery fitted in perfectly with their ethos.
