This expression has enjoyed a triple maturation in 3 types of cask. The first maturation is American oak, ex-bourbon barrels. They then select the most suitable of these barrels, containing a range of different aged spirit and transfer into small 19th century style Quarter Casks for a second maturation. The final maturation is in specially selected large European oak, Oloroso Sherry casks.

Nose: Rich and smoky with seaside minerals with a hint of ash and bitter chocolate drops.

Palate: Rich peaty with a spicy chili bite.

Finish: Short dry finish and a long sweet aftertaste.

Laphroaig distillery is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery. It is named for the area of land at the head of Loch Laphroaig on the south coast of the Isle of Islay.
