The Equinox & Solstice series from Decadent Drinks welcomes a sun-drenched Longmorn that's a blend of two 2013 first-fill barrels. Bottled at the series' signature strength of 48.5% – natural colour and non-chill filtered – it’s packed with orchard fruit, florals, and honeyed charm.
Longmorn 11 Year Old Equinox & Solstice Winter 2013 (Decadent Drinks) Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Tinned pineapple, mango lassi, kumquat, waxy cereal dust, and lemon barley water.
Palate: Lush and fruity – green banana, plum, wildflower nectar, cut grass.
Finish: Medium length. Creamy vanilla, crushed nettles, soft fruit, and hints of dessert wine.
Distillery Information
A missionary named Maernanaog, or Mo-ernin-og, had brought Christianity to the Picts of Moray during the 7th Century. A church was built just outside of Elgin, following his death in 625AD and named Lann Marnoch, the Church of St Marnoch. Over the course of time, the name 'Lann Marnoch' gradually became Anglicised and eventually the area was known as Longmorn. Construction began on a distillery on the site in 1893 under John Duff and Company, founders of Glenlossie in 1876.
