Embellished by our Master Whiskymaker with Portuguese moscatel sweet white wine oak casks and virgin American oak casks, the result is a distillers delight.
Macaloney's Killeigh Whisky Single Malt Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose presents cream soda, soft vanilla and oak, with apricot, pear, hints of banana, sweet pea flowers, milled oats and honey. The white wine is delicate and layered with wet coastal forest and sea breeze.
Palate: The palate is velvety-creamy with more tropical fruits including sweet lychees, mandarin orange, and delicate banana embellished with honey and barley water. Fresh rose petals and a potpourri of dried flowers and wood spice yield to vanilla, oak and coconut with a hint of linseed, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Finish: The development includes light moscatel white wine, crème fraîche, toasted hazelnut, and sea salt, drying to a long, lingering oak finish.

Macaloney's Island Distillery & Twa Dogs Brewery is a producer of premium malt whiskies and superb craft beers. Our basic tour lasts 45 mins and begins in our visitor’s centre and flows the way the spirits go, past the grist mill where you can taste some of the various strains of malted & un- malted barley, or other cereals that we as a craft brewer as well as a distiller get to play and experiment with. Onward into the heart of the Brew & Still house through the smells of the mash tun & wash backs, past the gleaming swan necked Stills and then up into the warehouse and bottling hall before returning back to the visitor’s centre for a wee dram of two of the whiskies in our Macaloney Cask Selection series along with three of our craft beers.
