Macphail's Speyside 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet sherry stewed fruit aromas come to the fore with a hint of soft ginger. Fresh and zesty bursts of citrus accompany black cherry and poached pear.

Palate: Baked apple flavours are complemented by a delicate spice with mouth-warming traces of black pepper. Dark chocolate notes develop with nuances of creamy toffee.

Finish: A smooth, medium-bodied finish with lingering toasted oak.

Distillery Information

Macphail's distillery's story is not about a single distillery, but the legacy of the Gordon & MacPhail company, which began as a grocery and wine business in 1895 and later became a renowned independent whisky bottler and owner of its own distilleries. Its success is attributed to a long-term vision of cask maturation, led by the Urquhart family who joined the company in its early years.
