"Maison Thorin has two distinct legacies: one in Beaujolais, founded by Jean Thorin in 1843, known for its deep roots in Burgundian terroir and Gamay grapes, now part of the Boisset group. The other is Cognac Thorin, started by Pierre Thorin in 1879, a family affair in Grande Champagne focusing on traditional distillation of Ugni Blanc and rare Folle Blanche grapes, carried on by Claude Thorin today."
