Distillery Information

The Makar distillery is the first spirit brand from The Glasgow Distillery Company, which was founded in 2014 as the first distillery in Glasgow in over 100 years. The name "Makar" is an ancient Scots word for a poet or maker, and the brand name was chosen to reflect the craft and spirit of the city. The flagship Makar Original Dry Gin was launched in 2014, and it is a bold, juniper-led gin distilled in small batches in the copper pot still named "Annie".
