North British 35 Year Old 1989 Single Cask (Private Label) Single Grain Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Polished oak, chewy toffee, and burnt brown sugar lead the way, with creamy grain and butterscotch developing in time. A hint of granola joins, with flaked coconut and vanilla in tow.

Palate: A glorious balance of rich, creamy toffee sweetness and robust old oak, with juicy barley and syrupy porridge beneath. Baked apples, custard pastries, and cinder toffee join layers of rich, woody spice.

Finish: That old, leathery oaken spice lingers with sticky layers of caramel, chocolate, and crumbly shortbread, and a dusting of peppery warmth.

Distillery Information

William Sanderson, Andrew Usher, and John M Crabbie founded North British in 1885 as a joint business venture. All of the distillery's founders came from a background of independent blending, and wanted to expand their businesses by launching the distillery.
