Distillery Information

"Patrón Tequila's story began in 1989 with John Paul DeJoria (Paul Mitchell) and Martin Crowley, who aimed to create the world's first ultra-premium tequila, elevating it from cheap shots to a fine sipping spirit using 100% blue agave and traditional methods like the Tahona wheel. They partnered with Master Distiller Francisco Alcaraz in Jalisco, Mexico, initially distilling at Siete Leguas, before building their own Hacienda Patrón distillery in 2002 to control quality, leading to massive success and eventual sale to Bacardi in 2019."
