Port Charlotte 9.2 16 Year Old 2007 Cask #5 Jim McEwan Signature Collection Dramfool Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: The peat smoke, the fruit, the oak, the Atlantic Ocean, the traditional distillation style since 1881 and its created by real people who know exactly what the standard required is. The notes from the Barrique work wonderfully with the peat smoke creating a unique Islay Hebridean spirit matured full term a stones throw from the sea.
Palate: It's a gorgeous palate experience and at 62.4% the smoke & the sea work in harmony encapsulated in a halo of the Vosne Romanee Barrique. It's a unique taste experience. The malted barley flavours are to the fore throughout.
Finish: Strong & full of Islay character that works beautifully with the Vosne Romanee, a wonderful rare combination that is in its prime.
Distillery Information
"This supremely attractive village dates back to 1828 when it was established by Walter Frederick Campbell, the Laird of Islay. It was developed primarily to provide housing for the workers in the large Lochindaal Distillery, then being built on the shore here."
