Jean-Roger Groult has experimented with cask-finished Calvados for the past several years, beginning with whisky, jurançon and sherry. After a visit to the Cantillon brewery in Brussels, where real fruit is used to produce their kriek (lambic made with sour Morello cherries), Jean-Roger made a deal with the owner/manager Jean Van Roy, who was looking for Calvados barrels to produce a beer. Groult provided two barrels of Calvados in exchange for two barrels of kriek.

Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.

Palate: Lovely, mild on the tongue with a slight burn at the end.

Finish: Quite rich and lovely smooth texture.
