S.N. Pike's Magnolia | Double Oaked Small Batch 2C | Barrel Proof Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Creamy vanilla, strawberry raspberry. Chocolate covered cherry cordial with a touch of lemon zest. Plum cake.
Palate: A wannabe sweet Rye. Vanilla Cupcake, Graham Cracker, Faint caramel and carrot cake.
Finish: Slight spice, lingering toasted marshmallow.
Distillery Information
Founder and owner, Ed Carey, came across the historic brand, S. N. PIKE’S MAGNOLIA SPIRITS, which started in 1849 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Pike sourced the very best bourbon and whiskey and sold them throughout the United States and into Europe. Magnolia Spirits were highly sought after spirits until Prohibition put the company, along with many others, out of business. In 2020, Ed and his daughter and partner, Meagan, revived the long-lost brand in Columbus, Ohio. Our goal in recreating Pike's Magnolia Spirits brand is to act in the Samuel Pike tradition by seeking out and sourcing special quality bourbon and whiskey. In keeping with the S.N. Pike legacy, we carry a rye whiskey (his best seller), along with a barrel strength wheated bourbon and 94 proof wheated bourbon. We have licensed our bourbon and whiskey to APG beverages (Noble Cut Distillery) who finishes and bottles Magnolia Spirits under the direction of Ed. We are currently available in four U.S. states and Alberta, Canada.
