Nose: The complexity of its blend is obvious. The robust and rich aromas enter on savors of spices and rare woods, followed by notes of macerated fruit, plums, candied orange and honey.
Palate: The taste is altogether smooth, tonic and mineral. Flavors of spices burst out and savors of cedar and light tobacco mingle with notes of macerated fruit.
Finish: The finish is very long, very aromatic and is both robust and fresh.
Distillery Information
The company was founded in 1660 by Pierre Mathieu and Jean-Baptiste Moïse, who started the distillery in the Trois Rivières Valley and first produced rhum in 1685. Over the years, the distillery developed and modernized to become one of the island's largest and most important distilleries.
