Producer Information
Domaine Follin-Arbelet is a wine producer based in the village of Aloxe-Corton in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy. It makes a range of village, premier and grand cru wines from both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir across numerous sites in the surrounding area, and even into the Côte de Nuits (with its 0.4-hectare/one-acre holding in Vosne-Romanée's Romanée-Saint-Vivant). Franck Follin-Arbelet began producing Pinot Noir in 1990 from a leased village-level plot in Aloxe-Corton. Today, Follin-Arbelet has expanded and now makes wines from the Corton, Corton Les Bressandes, Corton-Charlemagne and Romanée Saint Vivant grand cru vineyards. It also farms land in four premier cru sites spread between Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses. Follin-Arbelet's largest holding is a 1.1 hectare (2.7 acres) plot in Aloxe-Corton's Les Vercots vineyard. It also boasts a one-hectare (2.5-acre) holding in the nearby Clos du Chapitre. Vinification is traditional, and fermentation is conducted with indigenous yeasts in open-top wooden vats. The wines are aged for up to 20 months in barrel (the percentage of new oak dependent on the vintage and appellation) and are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
