Distillery Information
Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils is a well-regarded wine producer based in the town of Saint-Aubin in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy. It produces a range of wines, predominantly Chardonnay, from fruit in Saint-Aubin and neighboring Puligny and Chassagne-Montrachet, including a plot in the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru site. The eponymous Jean-Claude Bachelet established the domaine name in the 1970s although the family has winemaking history dating back to the 17th Century. According to Burgundy guru Jasper Morris MW, the family is also related to Michelle Bachelet, the president of Chile from 2006 to 2010. Jean-Claude's sons Jean-Baptiste and Benoit progressively took over the running of the domaine in the early 2000s and the cellars were rennovated in 2010.
