Producer Information
De Martino is a wine producer founded by Italian settlers in Maipo, Chile. Since establishment in 1934, it has grown rapidly and today, produces wine from around the country sourcing grapes from the Maipo, Casablanca, Limarí, Cachapoal, Maule, Elqui and Choapa subregions. The wine portfolio of De Martino includes multiple ranges led by The Single Vineyard collection. Small plots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere as well as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are selected for vinification. Other ranges include the De Martino Series and the Old Vines. Each vintage, a selection is released under the Cellar Collection of which includes wines that have aged over ten years in bottle. The Alto de Piedras vineyard in the Maipo Valley was De Martino's first acquisition. The company claims it was the first in the country to export wine from the Carmenère that is grown here. The warm days and cool nights, along with the alluvial soils, make an excellent terroir for Bordeaux varieties with Cabernet and Malbec also grown. On top of the flagship vineyard, De Martino has vinified wines from around 350 vineyards throughout the country. There are several vineyards with older vines in the Cachapoal and Maule Valleys that contribute to the Single Vineyard series.
