      Producer Information

The vineyards area of Borgo Scopeto is 70 hectares, of which 40 are Chianti Classico consisting of different clones of Sangiovese. There is no shortage of other vines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot. The grape yield per hectare is on average 50/60 quintals. The vineyards of the Borgo Scopeto company are located at an altitude between 350 and 420 meters above sea level and their exposure is mainly towards the south, south-west. The soils are typical of the Chianti area: sandy with arenaceous stones and clay loam. Among the different vineyards present in the company, Vigna Misciano deserves attention: it is located at more than 400 meters above sea level with a south-east exposure. The vines that grow on clayey soil with evident stoniness are mostly Sangiovese (90%), Syrah and Canaiolo (10%). The Sangiovese of Vigna Misciano, given its particularity, is used to produce our Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna Misciano.
