Red fruits and minerality intertwine, giving the Echézeaux a beautiful finesse and great elegance. The wine shows a beautiful length. The assembly of the three plots brings a beautiful complexity thanks to: the depth of the "Echézeaux du dessus", the minerality of the "Clos St Denis" and the finesse and femininity of the "Poulaillères". Its color is deep ruby red and it has all the seriousness of Grands Crus.
Producer Information
Jean-Marc Millot is a Burgundy wine producer located in Nuits-Saint-Georges. It makes Pinot Noir from a number of parcels within Nuits-Saint-Georges, but the majority of its vines are in Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Échezeaux. Millot has a number of premier and grand cru vineyards among its holdings. The domaine's namesake, Jean-Marc Millon, began producing wine in the 1980s in his family's 6 hectare (15 acre) vineyard that had been planted by his grandparents after World War II, as well as in a small, 1ha (2.5 acre) plot that his wife had inherited from her family. The domaine didn't begin estate bottling under the Jean-Marc Millot label until 1992. Millot's initial catalogue of wines was small, limited to a Côte de Nuits Villages from vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and Vougeot and within the Comblanchien commune. In 1997, Millot added the Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots premier cru to his holdings, as well as the Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux and Clos de Vougeot grand cru parcels. Today, these vineyards make Jean-Marc Millot's most highly regarded wines. The total land that Jean-Marc Millot has under vine is still fairly small, and all the work in the vineyards is done by hand, following organic farming practices.
