IXSIR Winery is a Lebanese wine producer located in Batroun, a coastal area in northern Lebanon. It was founded in 2009 and produces a wide range of grape varieties for its red, white and rosé blends, including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sémillon and Muscat. The estate comprises six vineyards in Jezzine in the south, Batroun in the north, and the hillsides of the Bekaa Valley in the east. All up, this equates to around 110 hectares (272 acres) of vineyards located on unique mountain sites all over the country. The highest vineyard, Ainata, sits at 1700 meters (5580ft) above sea level, and is the highest vineyard in Lebanon. This 19ha (47 acre) property is in the northeast and is composed of limestone and clay soils planted to Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Caladoc. IXSIR has several other vineyards just south of Ainata, planted to Arinarnoa, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat. The estate winery and vineyards at Basbina include a restored 17th Century Lebanese house that presides over a modern, sustainable winery. EL, IXSIR's top cuvée, is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, while the white counterpart is composed of Viognier and Chardonnay.The IXSIR Grand Réserve red is a blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for a in 60 percent new French oak barrels.
