      Producer Information

Domaine Jérôme Castagnier (also Domaine Castagnier) is a well-regarded wine producer based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy. The domaine produces a large range of white and red grand cru, premier cru and village wines from local staples Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Aligoté. Despite a large number of impressive labels, the domaine holdings are small, covering only four hectares (10 acres). These supply around three quarters of production with the remainder acquired through Castagnier's négoce operation. Consequently, production is limited. Principle labels include the Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis and Clos de Vougeot wines as well as a host of premier crus and village wines, principally from the neighboring appellations of Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. Since 2013, wines are made with minimal intervention and there is no chaptalisation, acidification, fining or filtering. Reds are generally destemmed prior to fermentation although up to 50 percent whole bunches may be present in the cuvée (this can vary significantly depending on the vineyard and the vintage).
