Producer Information
Azienda Agricola Laura Aschero is a small-to-medium family-run winery located in Pontedassio, in the hills above Imperia, Liguria. Founded in the late 1970s by Laura Aschero—who began planting vines on family land at the age of 54—it has grown into one of the region’s most respected producers of Ligurian wines. Today, the estate produces around 60,000 to 70,000 bottles annually, focusing on native varieties such as Vermentino, Pigato, Rossese, and a rosé, along with grappa and extra virgin olive oil. The vineyards lie at about 150 meters above sea level, on well-exposed, ventilated slopes ideal for grape cultivation. After Laura's passing in 2009, her son Marco Rizzo, his wife Carla, and their daughter Bianca—an AIS-certified sommelier—took over the operation, continuing her legacy with care and innovation. The winery is based in a beautifully renovated ancient palace that serves as both a cellar and tasting room, blending historical charm with modern winemaking. Known for its expressive, terroir-driven wines and sustainable practices, Laura Aschero remains a standout example of artisanal Ligurian winemaking, welcoming visitors who wish to experience the elegance and authenticity of the Riviera Ligure di Ponente.
