Maximin Grunhaus Abtsberg Riesling Kabinett 2023 presents a delicate balance of sweetness and acidity. On the nose, there are bright notes of green apple, lemon zest, and subtle floral undertones. The palate reveals a light-bodied wine with an initial burst of juicy fruit, harmoniously intertwined with a crisp minerality derived from the slate-rich soils of the Abtsberg vineyard. A gentle sweetness lingers, showcasing the Kabinett style’s characteristic fruit-forward nature.

Maximin Grünhaus is a German wine estate located in the Mertesdorf municipality within the Ruwer district of the Mosel region, north of Trier. It known for its spicy, mineral-laden wines, led by Riesling, sourced from monopole vineyards. The first documented evidence of the Maximin Grünhaus vineyards dates to 966, when the land was given to the Benedictine monastery of St. Maximin in Trier. Various winemaking artifacts from Roman times including pruning knives and amphora have been discovered here. The estate has been owned by the Von Schubert family since 1882. Today it is managed by the sixth generation, Maximin von Schubert.
