We managed to learn ourselves some Swedish, just by reading the label of this one! A rather exciting indie bottling here, the folks at Little Brown Dog (Liten Brun Hund in Swedish), in Aberdeenshire, managed to get their paws on a cask of single malt whisky from the Mackmyra Distillery, in Sweden! Distilled in 2008 and aged in a virgin American oak cask, which was stored 50 metres below ground in the Sandvik iron ore mine! The cask was then transferred to Scotland and bottled up at cask strength, with an outturn of 380 bottles, in 2020. There's a charming dog pattern covering the bottle, which is very fetching... Get it? Fetching? Dogs? We have fun.

Nose: Cream poured over tinned peaches, fresh oak and piney, almost botanical spice.

Palate: Butterscotch and caramel, charred pineapples with chimichurri dressing and wafts of sweet vanilla.

Finish: Warming pepper and chilli flakes, with dark cacao and rich lingering vanilla and oak.
